The Moment That Changed Everything

I’ll never forget that night. It was December 2, 2000, and my family and I were headed home after a day of Christmas shopping. Everything seemed ordinary—until it wasn’t. A woman fell asleep at the wheel and collided with oncoming traffic. In the blink of an eye, our car was hit at 110 mph. The airbags exploded, and the car was thrown backward.

The impact felt like a punch to the gut, and for a moment, I thought we were all going to die.

But we didn’t. We survived, miraculously.

I called out to God just before the impact, and that simple prayer marked the beginning of a transformation that would change everything. It was no longer about just surviving or succeeding in my career—it was about finding a deeper purpose in everything I did.

Wait, I got ahead of myself.
Let me take you back.

Let me paint the picture of life before everything shifted. I had climbed the corporate ladder, become a senior partner at a private equity firm, and was managing billions in assets. Every promotion, every deal was a confirmation that I was on the right track. My career was a series of milestones, one bigger than the last. Financial success was my ultimate goal, and I thought achieving it would bring fulfillment.

But something was missing.

Despite all the promotions, the money, the accomplishments—I was still empty. I had poured myself into my work, but it wasn’t enough. My heart and mind were craving something deeper, something that went beyond the numbers and the accolades.

I needed to know: What was I truly building?

That crash, that pivotal moment, didn’t just wake me up physically—it woke up my soul.

That night, I promised myself I would no longer chase success for the sake of success. I needed to build something that had meaning. I wanted my work to matter, not just to me, but to others, to the community, to the world.

I began to turn my entrepreneurial and hard working spirit into a spiritual one. I asked myself, What if my work could do more than just generate revenue? What if they could be a force for good? My faith became my compass, guiding me to see my work as a tool for something greater.

I co-founded Legacy Homes, a venture that allowed me to buy and restore homes to help families get back on their feet. The work was no longer about the bottom line—it was about the lives we were impacting. Every home we restored wasn’t just a property; it was a new beginning for a family. And when disaster struck with hurricanes, I didn’t hesitate.

My businesses became a beacon of hope for those who had lost everything. I started a non-profit, the One Another Foundation that is committed to sharing the stories of people who’s lives were changed by the generosity of people.

Faith in humanity, restored.

The more I gave, the more I realized—true success isn’t about how much you make, but about how much you give. And that’s what I built my life around: giving with intention, leading with purpose.

Today, I lead differently.

True leadership isn’t just about hitting targets or growing profits. It’s about leaving a legacy—a legacy that will outlive us, that will impact people long after we’re gone.

I now focus on teaching other business leaders how to redefine their own paths. I want them to understand that they don’t have to choose between success and purpose. You can have both.

Your business can generate profits, yes, but it can also create ripples of change in the world.

I’m here to show you how to align your business with your values and create an impact that truly matters.

All the Hats,
One Heart

I’m not defined by just one title. I’m a mom, a CEO, a wife, a friend, a mentor—and let’s not forget an occasional referee when life gets chaotic. Each hat I wear is a thread woven into the fabric of my life.

These roles aren’t just labels; they’re commitments. To show up. To give my best. To pour into the people and the passions that matter most. Life isn’t about choosing one path—it’s about embracing the complexity and purpose in walking many.

A Few Things You Might Not Know About Me

Here’s a glimpse into some fun facts that shape how I show up in the world and what drives me every day:

Faith is My Foundation: My faith is the cornerstone of everything I do. It’s my guiding light, and I wear it boldly—believing that business can be a ministry.

I’m a Lifelong Learner: I’m constantly growing, evolving, and challenging myself. From books and podcasts to engaging with thought leaders, I believe there's always something new to discover.

I'm a Family First Leader: Being a mom and wife is a core part of who I am. The values I live by at home—love, honesty, and balance—also carry over into how I lead in business and life.

I Believe in People: I have a deep passion for nurturing and empowering others, whether it’s through mentoring, coaching, or supporting my teams. I truly believe people are the heart of every success story.
